I am writing a fantasy series and have spent a lot of time world-building and writing backstories and am now ready to start actually writing a full novel. I intended to start from the POV of a 14-year-old girl (Yasmay) writing in the third person; the series would loosely follow her arch as she grew to 19 years of age. Still, when I sat down to write, I thought to go in a different direction and start the series when she's 17 instead and recap through memories in book one. I will also post the original beginning titled Bealbry #2 and would appreciate feedback on which version you (the beta reader) prefer. Oh and apologies for any unexplained terminology.

    Hey readers!

I am looking for someone out there who loves fiction with a dystopian bent, think the Broken Earth Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin, to have read of my latest book The Iron Gate. I am happy to receive edits for the work but I mostly just want to know if people enjoy the tale. If you think you might like to have a listen, please read the synopsis below and I look forward to hearing from you!

The world is shaken by an explosive prison break on a volcanic island. The mastermind behind this prison break intends to head back to the mainland and instigate a civil war to position himself as the leader of Ahtia. To accomplish this, he needs to reach northernmost part of the country, where there are rumours of a devastating weapon.

While this is happening, a young man called Jonathan has run away from home on the eve of his wedding. This seemingly insignificant event will cause ripples through the entirety of the country and could be the key to stopping the war. Fighting back against the tide of rising nationalism, Jonathan and his new friends must unite the wastelands to save their lives and create a better future.

    Thanks!

This is the 2nd Chronicle of the main books in the series of World of the Viscerebus. It continues from the 1st Chronicle. The story details Yuana's balancing act in helping Roald adapt to her world and deal with the discovery of her true self - being an Apex Viscerebus. Roald is doing his best to overcome his trauma and phobia of Viscerebus while trying to sustain his relationship with Yuana. Daniel, their best friend, is dealing with the truth of his true nature, the circumstances of his mother's and baby sister's deaths and the devastating effect on Roald, who witnessed it when he was a child. But these challenges were nothing compared to what was brewing behind the scenes - an event that would upend the current world order between humans and Viscerebus. One that they were all unaware of. TO THE READERS: Please let me know what you think of the storyline, the characters, the plot, the dialogue, and if the story can stand alone. THANK YOU.

Gene: gothic romance and mystery with paranormal elements.

The castle was haunted by the true ghosts in the world. Our memories.

A Bird in a Cage follows the journal entries of American actress JULLIETE, fondly known as Plum. Plum’s career as an actress is in jeopardy. She is getting older, and her latest film is her last chance to revive her career. On top of the pressure to be young in a world where youth is paramount, her co-star AUSTIN is a married man she had an affair with, and her director seems to have it out for her. When Plum arrives at Halesworth Castle in England with her small crew, she changes.

There is something not quite right about Halesworth Castle and its mysterious servants who disappear into the walls. Plum grapples with the different relationships she has with each crew member and writes pivotal events that happened in her life that involved each one.

While investigating the castle one-night, Plum meets DAGON, the mysterious owner of the castle, who reinforces her worry about getting older. Dagon seduces Plum and offers her immortality. He promises her a world free of worries. A life free from earthly concerns. But there is a price to pay. To stay, young Plum must remain with Dagon in the castle for all eternity. Plum must make a choice before it is too late.

***Hello! I am open to any form of feedback. I would describe my book as a dark fantasy with heavy elements of science fiction. I am a newer writer and am open to guidance and constructive criticism. Primarily, I am looking to know if my story flows well and makes sense. If my characters are easy to connect with. I have concerns about my ending as about my over all prose. I am not too concerned with grammar at this time. Thank for your time.

Crown Prince Terrance wants nothing more than to cure his youngest brother, Tobias, of a curse cast by a legendary faery. The problem is: the faery is hidden behind an impenetrable wall of briars. The other problem is: Terrance is scared out of his mind. He can't do anything right. He can't lead archers. He can't lead his brothers. He can't even stop a prophet from using an illegal power and making Tobias' curse worse.

    But he can strategize.

When Terrance discovers there's more to Tobias' curse than what the princes previous thought, he and his brothers defy their father to recruit the very prophet that threatened to reveal their secret curse. They make a bargain: the princes will listen to her prophecies, and she will use her power to break Tobias' curse for good. If they fail, it would mean war with their neighboring country. They only wonder if her power will be great enough.

I'm looking for feedback on structure and readability. What makes you want o read and what makes you disinterested? Anything would be helpful :)

***Hey everybody, I know this might be a long shot with my wordcount, but I just learned about this app on Jenna Moreci's channel and I'm so excited to find a new group of beta readers! What I think I'm offering is a story ready to start the self-publishing process. I'd love any and all feedback, and especially your thoughts from a reader's perspective.***

Kura’s family awaits the return of a prophesied savior, but she believes in surer things: the sword in her hand, and her role as a secret rebel informant. A deserter’s daughter, she’s spent her life on the lam, fighting to survive in the Wynshire Waste—a desolate forest renounced by human civilization and overrun with talking animals. She sees the king’s demise as their means to safer territories, until soldiers catch wind of her sedition and condemn her family to death.

Triston, crown prince, is a loyal soldier under his king’s command—an onerous job. The people have never been content with his father’s regime, and the ongoing draft furthers their resentment. Seeking to quell unrest, Triston joins his mentor on an expedition to rid the Waste of its derelict refugees and end the rebellion for good. He intends only to arrest and prosecute, but this attempt at compromise still leads to bloodshed, that of his men.

To save her family, Kura crosses and befriends centaurs, rebel factions, and devotees of ancient, elemental magic—as, thanks to her stolen sword, they mistake her for that prophesied savior. Triston dutifully pursues Kura, the rebel who escaped him, but remains lost between his father’s guidance and his mentor’s advice. To follow one is to deny the other, and both require he betray himself. As their paths collide, Kura struggles with whether she should live a lie and fulfill a prophecy she doesn’t believe in, while Triston strives to prevent a war where both sides hold his sympathies—and want his head.
